David Traver of Anchorage, right, won the freestyle beard competition. Hans-Peter Weis of Germany was third and Gerhard Knapp of Germany was the runner-up. Almost 300 contestants competed in the 2009 World Beard and Moustache Championships in Anchorage on Saturday.
