it's a "skin" if you were to wrap the thing celophane with your design you wouldn't see the wheel or the screen... I say play with the screen, the button but not the wheel. besides, you would rub it off in one day and then it would reaaly look like arse.

Always ask for something more demanding than your actual demand , then you might get your actual wish.
You want 5% raise ? ask for 10% then you might get 5% you wanted.
Want GC ? ask for Citizenship then we might get GC .
This way the Giver always feels that he got off easy as the other demand was too big.
Also if illegals can rally and ask for citizenship and amnesty why won't we .

Guys it is really upto you to decide how much you are willing to contribute towards something which will change your future. I'm on 7th year H1B extension I pay $200 for my dependents visas. I am going to my home country and I'm paying close to $600 for Visa stamping, plus pain for doing all the paper work, and pain of taking a visa interview after living 7 years here. We don't get anything done then this visa will expire in 6 months, so another $200 for visa, another $600 for stamping, another form & another filing and above all another sleepless night. This is endless, we need to support this effort, please contribute generously.

First of all, my action just represents myself, not IV. Secondly, I don't really care whether EB-3 ROW would quit or join IV. To be frank with you, my PD is just 3 month away from the current date (EB2 China). From what I know now, immigration reform won't reduce my waiting time significantly. I have contributed to this organization, but now I decide to take some action of my own instead of contribute to this organization. It's quite funny that you threaten to quit this organization. This organization would benefit you much more than people like me since you are in EB3 ROW. But it is totally your call. I don't care whether you quit or not.

Tools > Preferences > Connection > Network Transports
Check Manually Configure connection settings
Click on RTSP Settings, uncheck everything except "Attempt to use HTTP"
Do the similar for PNA Settings.

Mr chaanakya, You may find this as a personal attack! But it is not. This is an attack on your thought process!
You claim that you received a PHD. But I seriously doubt whether the university that decorated you with a PHD evaluated your ability to think rationally and ability to reason!
Normally with education people achieve wisdom, knowledge, ability for rational thinking, ability to reason, humility, compassion and a better understanding of the functioning of the world.
I am not saying you do not have the right to complain or right to protest. You have and you definitely should have. But the approach that you have taken is the wrong one! In your post you criticize about people lamenting their plight! In reality, you are also doing the same, Am I correct?
If you are a real PHD, just go through the following post that you presented and analyze how you can improve that to make it a product from a REAL PHD!
If such an educated guy like you can become an opportunist, how you can expect higher standards from lesser mortals!
In another post you said that you were eligible for EB1 and couldn't go through that rout, are you lamenting here? If you are well qualified, why didn't you go through that rout?

In reality, some are fortunate to reach your level, but not everyone! But that doesn't make them ineligible for the Pursuit of Happiness and Pursuit of a better life!
If you do have a real PHD, you should lead, you should be a role model for many and propel your energy in the positive direction instead of a stupid post like this! You can work to make things better in this country!

I am a passive observer of these forums. But some of the ridiculous notions floating around here have motivated me to vent. First and foremost, the law as written is highly favorable to people in EB3 categories, even from India. Here is how...
Take my example (and there are thousands like myself)....came to the US 8 years ago, spent 5 years working day and night to earn a PhD on a low (barely sustainable) stipend, got FIRST job saw decent money for the first time 6 years after I came.
Now, compare this to a person working an EB3-job for the last 8 years. Not only does this person do a real job that hopefully provides a respectable income but this person also has the option of moving to EB2 after 5 years of experience. So, at the end of the day in 2008; this person comes out ahead of me in terms of money, in terms of priority date (if ported) and most likely in terms of GC.
There are complaints all over the forum which have the stink of pretentiousness such as “oh..i am a poor EB3 waiting for n number of years” etc etc. What you guys seem to forget is that YOU are NOT an EB3, it is your JOB that is EB3. You have all the opportunities that were/are available to a person who sweated it out in the university system here to gain more qualifications and get an EB2 job. You CHOSE not to. The general discussion seems to center around cribbing about the US immigration system (Immigration by the way is a privilege defined by laws, not a birthright) and then blaming the EB2 crowd when they finally see the system implement the law as intended in the first place (horizontal spillover rules).
All these posts that refer to “my career is over because my gc is delayed” are nothing but a pathetic excuse. Law of supply and demand....if you have a skillset that is valuable, you will be fine with or without GC anywhere in the world. It takes a bunch of documents to remain here legally, all you need is a passport to go back if the system here seems so bad.
For all the attacks that are bound to happen, here is the fodder.....this is probably my first and last post, I haven’t contributed a dime to IV, will work here as long as I like it and if not, India is a great country and provides enough opportunities for any skillset !!

I guess I feel more and more hopeless by each second/minute
My PERM application (5/28/07 PD) stuck at Atlanta
In meantime I asked my lawyer what my employer would need to get for me (my employer has been a major pain and slow beyond words...took years to get PERm going...i'm seriously just done/depressed with so much). My lawyer said they would need to provide 2006 tax docs and sign bunch of papers etc.
Checked with employer...it's an average work place...must have 100 employees i think....and i'm told by HR (this woman in charge seriously has some stuff against me...i don't know) that they don't have 2006 returns, just 2005...come on a legal place like them has to have filed 2006 return.... but this is what i'm told..
I guess what's the point...without those docs, which i assume are initial evidence, i have no hope....
me...really sad....

My fear came true today. USCIS issued a RFE for my wife's I-485 TB test and she is in India right now. RFE has May 6th deadline and she would be back on June 3rd.
What are our options?
Request an extension for RFE?
Pre-pone her trip? (this would be really a costly option for us...since we have so much planned around that date)
Do TB test in USCIS approved surgeons in india (If there is any)

Please check the website of the US consulate of the particular region of India where you reside, like delhi or chennai etc, and or call their information line. They would have local hospitals or Medical examination certification centers that are designated by the consulates as being eligible for providing medical certificates, especially for people with Consular Processing interviews. I guess, that could probably help. Consult your lawyer or take an infopass to verify this information accuracy. Thanks. Sree

I recently went to South Korea and entered the US on the AP since I didn't feel that I had enough time to wait for my H-1B stamped in my passport at the US emabassy in Seoul. Before leaving the US, I consulted with my attorney on this issue and she assured me that my H-1B is valid as long as I file the extension and maintain terms of the H-1B visa.
Per your attorney, you need to file an extension. How soon does one have to file? Do you have to file one even if the current one is still valid for more than 6-month? Have you done so since your travel? Thanks in advance.

Since you can study under H4 you cannot apply for F1 (My wife tried that already) :)
What if the spouse (H1B holder) has to leave the country for some reason, say for an year? Then how is the student supposed to maintain his/her status?
So, I don't think that is true. If you get admission as a full time student, then you should be eligible for F1. My husband did this successfully in 2001.

Is this a parody post? How exactly is the law favorable to EB3? Just because they are allowed to file in EB2 later? Does this mean the law also favors children because it allows them to grow up? EB2 is in 2006. EB3 is stuck in 2001. "Plight"? Give me a break.

And what about the time Aman and the core team has put into this whole effort....it can never be earned back...and hence NOT at all quantifiable...and I wouldn't even attempt at adding that up...
