does anyone know if the Republican cosponsor of HR 5882 (the congressman who introduced it jointly with Congresswoman Zoe) - is he part of the judiciary commiteee?? if not - can he speak in support of the bill when they discuss this bill in the commitee -

With the attitude towards immigration in this country, i really doubt this bill will pass :(, i really hope it does though, i think the USICS is a strong believer of "sabar ka phal meeta hota hai", translated, the fruit of a long wait is sweet, i just hope the wait is not too long and the fruit rotten
Also, i am ready to help/organize/contribute for the community to make these bills pass....

However, the congress returns in September and IV Core will update us on the situation. There is still no reason to believe that this is bill is completely dead, so keep checking IV site and when there is an update from Core, put in your effort AND get your friends involved too.
You can actually start getting your friends in similar situation involved right now. Get them registered and get them to read up on IV in general. The only way we can get any reform is by numbers. I hope you have already joined your state chapter and look forward to your continued presence and contribution to IV.

In any system if you club large group of applicants based on a dichotomy, and say you will get lesser share than the rest, isn't that how you describe preferential treatment ? Is there any other way to describe the current country-quota system?

What would be so different between the two, in terms of social contribution to the US, that the 'diversity' rule makes an actual difference? Again what is the great benefit achieved by making it easier for one group to get a GC over the other? You can even think of other examples too.
I dont' want to start off a culture war here by making controversial statements, but try to understand the core of what I'm trying to say. That is, there is no perceivable difference between you and I, at least in terms of employability, that this diversity concept can make a meaningful benefit out of.
In fact it probably makes much more economical sense to have quotas based on the subject's political or scientific inclination rather than national origin! In today's connected world, nationality has no meaning.

Thanks Caliguy for all your help.
I was able to talk to IO in TSC. Very nice IO (male). He really took time to look into my case.
First he said my case is preadj. , Than he mentioned my I-140 is under EB3 as per computer records.
I told him, i have the copy of my approved I-140 and it is under EB 2 category. he put me on hold for like 4-5 minutes. Came back and said he has passed on the info to IO looking into my case . He asked me for Receipt,alien # ets. on my I-140 BUT God Darn it, i didint have the document with me at that time. He said, i could call, ad give it to IO . I was so MAD!!!
After 30 minutes of searching, i found my approved I140 from 2006.
I called POJ method Less than 2 minutes i spoke to IO ....they dont disclose the name.
I explained my situation again and gave him all the info .He even asked my contact phone no.
i gave it to him.
I dont know , what to do next. Do you think they really pass in the info to IO reviewing the case?
Should i call on Monday.
Man! this weekend will be a GRIND!
I wish , i had the I140 handy.
So all of you there,
Learn from my mistake...please have all the documents with you....you never know, what they will ask for.

Once I didn't have the receipts # for 140 (well, my lawyer never gave me a copy of 140 approval anyways, thankfully, I had created a case status update after filing in my portfolio, that is how I was able to "save" 140 receipts #'s forever) but , coming back to point, IO just read off the screen that company XXX filed your petition on date XXX and confirmed that there are two 140's.
Please fax your information to NCSC too as they do take a look at received faxes.

In the form, it says - you can use extra sheet to put the details of your case. I put this letter that had all my case details (this is the letter I used for everyone after that).
For Napolitano, did you not get the sample letter from me? I have sent it to around 50 odd people and counting .... It has everything, address and whatever else is required. You can just make changes to put your details in.

I don't understand why so many are not coming forward for contributions. It is just 25 dollars. This is way less than what you have to pay for EAD/AP renewal or nothing compare to if the applicant and spouse are able to apply i485 during the retrogression, then the spouses will get EAD faster and they can earn lot more than 25 dollars within an hour. In all respects this will be the best solution if we can accomplish this. It will be easy only when we are all united and behind such a wonderful group of IV members.
I also request everyone to post a message after you contribute. This will keep this posting on top and motivate more people to do the same.

Hi,
I am also struck in the same situation. My Interview was done on 7th Dec and so far I did not get the passport. Vfs website says "Your passport has not been handed over to VFS. I sent an email to 'ChennaiNIV@state.gov'. Got a reply that application is under process will be processed soon.

My appointment is 6th Dec 1400 hrs, and today consulate CSR confirmed that VFS will have the passport tomorrow. I will check with VFS tomorrow and let you know.

NYSE:SLV : iShares Silver Trust, the assets consist primarily of silver held by the custodian on behalf of the Trust.
SLV profile in yahoo mentions it tries to hold instruments to match SLV performance.
GLD claims physical gold holding in their profile. There is not holding detail on yahoo finance.
It will be interesting to dig into their actual portfolio holdings. But I agree that these are probably the closest instruments on gold and silver price play.

I think its a typo too No. It's not a typo. I had met Aman in a conference in December. He was talking about selling his house to contribute to IV (I really hope he didn't have to). But he has contributed a small fortune to this effort.

When I call NSC they tell there status says whatever is on website, Only thing she did opened SR. And I have not heard anything on that....I took info pass ...same thing...The lady on NSC says she can not even see my Priority Date ..

The Visa Office had originally anticipated that this would be a temporary situation. Then with the start of the new fiscal year in October the cut-off dates would have returned to those which had applied during June. However, continued heavy demand in those categories may require the establishment of cut-off dates which are earlier than those which had applied in June. A formal decision determination of the October cut-off dates will not be possible until early September.
